Several years ago, in an effort to outsmart the squirrels, I bought bird feeders with an outside grid that drops under the weight of the critters and closes off access to the seed. They’ve worked fine up until recently. I knew chipmunks were smaller, but I thought that they surely must weigh more than the birds. WRONG! This little fellow and his buddies have been enjoying free meals for the past week.
