As I was proofreading our monthly church newsletter, an article under the Children’s Academy headline took me by surprise: The craft project for March 27th is going to be a soup can pencil holder.
Why, you ask, is this such a big deal? Because many, many years ago (so many that I can’t remember the details), I made a juice can pencil holder for my father. I know this because Dad kept it on his dresser, filled with pencils and pens, until the day he died. It's now on my desk, and I think of him every time I see it.
