I don’t listen to the radio too much when I’m in the car, but when I do, my favorite music is from the 1940s. On my way to the church office I heard Johnny Mercer’s Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive, a snappy little song written in the style of a sermon (how appropriate). Given that we’re in the thick of boxing up, it seemed very fitting. Here are the words to the chorus – better yet, click on the link to sing along. It’ll make you smile.
You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene
